TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS IN CAMPUS.

By: Kennedy Njeru.
As a young student in campus, we all dream of having a good life and share good memories with the loved ones we meet there in campus. We fall in love, which is a beautiful thing to happen to all of us. We become so focus on the one whom we have fallen in love with with the mindset that they are the one meant for us. We always fantasize with them every time and hence creating a bond we all love to never break, making promises which we know nothing about the future.
God is love, even in the Bible we are taught to love each other because God Himself is Love.

The bond we create with the other person, blinds us from seeing if the other person really and truly have the same feelings we have for them. The blindness makes us from seeing the reality that we are in a one-sided love, when the reality hits, the pain is too unbearable and the dreams and hopes we had put for the other person vanishes. We all have reasons as to why get into relationship, some may be because the other is insisting to start a relationship with you and you see that you'll benefit from him/her.
This is where the toxicity comes in and brings along effects to the one hurted alot, like;

Suicide attempts.

We've heard cases where some students attempts to commit suicide because of love. After realizing that they we're in a relationship on there own, and the other was not even putting an effort in bridging the relationship.unfit

Indulging into violence.

For an instance, a student comes into realization that the lover has been having an affair with his or her friend, we've heard cases where the students uses violence to fight for a love that never existed. They end up hurting  the one person their hearts loved the most and guilt overcomes them and confusion raids their mind and hence some turns out mad!

Isolation from the rest.

The guilt the pain and the confusion makes one to isolate themselves from the rest with the mindset of unworthy and different  from the rest. This isolating brings more pain and confusion which makes the affected one end up indulging in drug abuse as a way of searching for a way of peace and happiness, forgetting the fact that drugs are not a remedy but a destruction.

As a student myself, I have faced such incident and the points I have meantions were a part of the thoughts that ran through my mind. The pain and confusion are real in real life and it's not a fantasy. What I can advice all who might mind themselves in such a scenario, look for help, either counselling from the professional counselors and talking to the one whom you know will always guide you in the right way, in a way of finding a way of help.
If you find yourself in a toxic relationship, just move away from the relationship and look for a better way of finding peace rather than staying and kill yourself with guilt and confusion.
Another thing, find something worth fight for, indulge yourself in sports. It's better to be physically fit rather than stay and end up being mentally unfit.

Hope you'll all love the article, remember to give your comments and critics where I should improve in order to give you more fantastic articles in the coming future. Adios!
